{Disarmed} Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Drop Test: Get a protective case quickly
Samsung has raised the bar for Android smartphones with the new Galaxy S22 Ultra. The device has a lot going for it and could very well be the smartphone that can be called the best Android smartphone.
The device has only recently endured an endurance test . And cut off well. Now, the same YouTube channel has dropped tested the flagship to see how durable the device's Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back panels are.
First, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is dropped onto the back from waist height. And the Super Clear Glass covering the rear cameras shattered on the first drop. The glass back that hit the concrete floor showed no major damage apart from small scratches on the bottom. A fall from the same height onto the bottom of the phone didn't cause any major damage either. The frame has a few scratches, but that's about it.
If the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra falls on its side, there is little chance that it will remain unscathed. The curved portion of the screen that first hit the concrete is completely broken, with cracks reaching the middle of the screen. Fortunately, the screen still works perfectly. But when it fell from a great height, the screen eventually gave way. However, the rear glass remained mostly intact.
Of course, this is the worst-case scenario. Most of us are unlikely to drop our smartphones onto concrete from a height of ten feet. But it's still good to know how stable a brand new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is when it falls out of your pocket. It would be safer to use a protective case for this phone. Maybe you should also provide the screen with some kind of protection. There are enough options.
