After using MIUI 12.5 for a long time in the Xiaomi Mi 11, we have realized as soon as we update the device that the performance of the equipment has completely changed, and that is undoubtedly fantastic news.
The main thing is that the transitions are much smoother than before, we did not encounter any kind of lag in the system and even the touch response seems to have improved. These are obviously personal sensations of use with the terminal, but it is quite striking and one realizes it from the first moment.

Finally, we also want to talk to you about a functionality that does not concern us too much, but it is another novelty that we have found in the device settings. Basically we are talking about a setting that allows us to activate a beauty mode for video calls although, unfortunately, it will only be available for the WeChat application.
The sidebar, one of the flagship functions of this version
Of course, we could not stop talking about one of the star functions with which this new version of MIUI arrives, such as the sidebar . In this case, this tool allows us to have a hidden menu on the side of our screen with direct access to the applications that we configure manually.
Once this bar is invoked, we can open these applications in floating windows to be able to use several of them simultaneously, thus greatly improving our multitasking experience and having much faster access to them than usual.
Something that we have noticed is that the tool works especially well and is integrated in a very natural and intuitive way in any part of the interface, which is why we find it to be a tremendously useful function and, above all, that it is impeccably polished and can even resize the window and position it to our liking.
User privacy and security come to the fore within MIUI
And to finish, we have to reserve a space for one of the great steps forward that MIUI 13 has taken, such as security and user privacy, which has undergone quite important improvements.
One of the functions that we liked the most is one that is very similar to the one we have in iOS, and it is simply an indicator that some system app has been using our camera to carry out any type of management, something tremendously useful at the security level .
For example, either in the camera app or even when we use facial unlocking, the interface will show us a green indicator in the upper left part of the screen that will provide us with that information, although, unlike the apple system, It will only do it when we use the camera, and not when the computer's microphone is used.
Another of these tools linked to security is found directly in the system settings. This has to do directly with information or contact in the event of any emergency that may arise in our day to day, having direct access to location services with alerts in the event of any risk detected by Google itself.
In addition, we will also have access to wireless emergency alerts thanks to which the system will be able to notify you of a threat of any kind based on your location, whether they are public safety messages, drills, etc.
And finally, we also want to show you the importance that the company has given to our control of user privacy with a new setting called "Privacy protection".
From here we will be able to view each and every one of the permissions that we have given to each application on our device and manage it in a simple way in the event that we want to modify any of them, so that control over all aspects of the system will be configurable completely to our personal taste.
Has MIUI improved enough in this new version?
