Instagram continues to include news on the social network. This time it has included a new "like" button in the Stories .
Likes and reactions, different elements
Until now, there was no way to know if a Stories was liked or not , beyond the number of users who have seen that and the successive ones. Now Instagram has included a like button in the latest update.
This new button is integrated in the bottom right, right next to the "Submit" button . The likes that we receive will not appear in the direct messages of the social network, but will appear by sliding up, just above the users who have seen the Stories that we have uploaded and that will be deleted after 24 hours.
❤️ Private Story Likes ❤️
— Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) February 14, 2022
Starting to roll out today, you can now send some love by liking people's stories without sending a DM.
Likes on stories are private and do not have counts. Rather, they appear as hearts next to people's handles in your Stories view sheet. 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/l56Rmzgnnw
Unlike the reactions, the likes will not appear through direct messages , since, as Adam Mosseri, one of the directors of Instagram, has commented, it is about not saturating the direct messages of the app.

The update has started rolling out today , so it is likely that you will receive this update in a matter of days.
