{Disarmed} I have installed MIUI 13 on my Xiaomi Pad 5: faster, more accessible, but nothing amazing
Came the day. The Xiaomi Pad 5 has received MIUI 13 , the latest version of Xiaomi's customization layer and then we will see how these first minutes of use have been.
Despite the fact that it is a tablet that already worked like a charm with MIUI 12.5 , it was time to see some new features in the software. There are different ways to update this device to the latest version, although in this case it has been done via OTA.
The update has not been excessively heavy, specifically 560 MB , which for a version with so many new features, is not too much.
Fluidity is instantly noticeable

Despite the fact that the operating system was already running very smoothly thanks to 120 Hz , MIUI 13 gives the software that extra point of electricity that is difficult to explain in words, but that you appreciate as soon as the update is installed. It remains to be seen how that extra fluidity affects autonomy.

Since we remember that the Pad 5 has an adaptive screen that adjusts the refresh rate to each situation to save battery.
Few novelties in the widgets, at least for the moment

Honestly, I expected the widgets to be completely redesigned in every way and so far we haven't found them to change much . It is likely that some applications still have to adapt theirs to this latest version, but I have hardly noticed any changes.
New options for the Xiaomi Pad Keyboard

In my case, the Xiaomi Pad Keyboard is a must when using the Xiaomi Pad 5 and it is true that in the settings section it now has much greater customization than what we found previously.
It is possible to remove commands, add some others to open applications and even customize the existing ones. The only downside is that there is part of this section that is still in English , which indicates that there are still details to be polished that will probably be integrated in the next updates.
A control center from which to control your smart home

If you have smart devices in your home, you can make them appear in the control center to make them much easier to access. It remains to test the control center with another device that already has MIUI 13 , since in theory these devices will be able to enjoy many other functions and, of course, better integration with each other.
More privacy

One of the sections that I have come across in the settings has been this one called " Privacy Protection " in which we can manage the permissions of the different applications in a very simple way.

floating windows everywhere

One of the great surprises that we have come across and that is hardly talked about is the floating windows. In MIUI 13 many gestures are integrated and even with the possibility of organizing the screen in such a way that they have the configuration that we want to increase our productivity.
The waiting was worth it?

The wait was worth it? Well, we have only been testing Xiaomi's new customization layer for a short time, but so far it has been worth it . We have not come across any errors or blundering bugs that make the experience bad, far from it.
Of course, what we are clear about is that the connection between devices and the integration of the system will be much better when MIUI 13 is fully deployed.
