{Disarmed} Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen upgrade revealed for PS5 and Xbox Series X
CD Projekt Red today revealed new footage of Cyberpunk 2077's long-awaited next-gen upgrade. During a live stream, the company demonstrated the game's well-known hacking and gunplay battles on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Now, however, the open-world cyber-adventure runs at a smoother framerate and has more impressive graphical features.
The next-gen update and other improvements are part of version 1.5, which was surprisingly released today. There is also a free trial version that allows you to try the game for five hours. After purchase, you can transfer your progress to the full game.
As part of the stream, CD Projekt Red addressed some of the biggest changes. For example, the studio completely overhauled the perk system and combat balance. This means that you will have to redistribute your perk points if you continue your save with update 1.5.
In order for you to be able to do more with the improved perks, the development team has also improved enemy intelligence. CD Projekt Red claims that the NPCs should now exhibit much more interesting behavior in battle.
Other updates include a better driving model, crowds that don't disappear when you turn around, and a friendlier time jump feature.
More than a year after its original release, Cyberpunk 2077 feels like it's finally coming out for real. The game's original debut was notorious for its bugs and technical issues.
CD Projekt Red seems to be very aware of these criticisms and is specifically addressing them with update 1.5. The studio spent a lot of time during its stream showing how drivers and civilians react more realistically to threatening situations.
The question now is whether these improvements are enough to give Cyberpunk 2077 a new chance at success. Now that the game is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, some people might give Cyberpunk another chance or even try it for the first time.
