Android 12L is currently being tested in the first developer preview. The version of the mobile operating system is actually intended for tablets and foldables with a large display. Nevertheless, it can also be tested on normal smartphones, and with good reason.
Will there be an intermediate version of Android for many years? It seems so. Because while Android 12L will then be available on tablets, it should appear on smartphones as Android 12.1. Some well-informed colleagues are sure of that.
So for the first time since Android 8 Oreo we could give an intermediate version again. Google should probably distribute this as a feature drop at the end of March. But if you then think that there will be big changes, you will be disappointed. Only here and there are revised animations and a few new visual adjustments.
The question might be whether this dot update will then also be available on smartphones other than the Google Pixel.
