AliExpress and WeChat are now on the US list for online fraud and piracy

According to the United States Trade Representative, AliExpress and WeChat have been added to the list of online fraud and piracy cases in the United States. So the trade dispute between the United States and China continues to spread.

The US authorities are now imposing serious sanctions on the two Chinese companies. These companies are said to be collaborating with the Chinese government on espionage and censorship.

In the most recent case, the United States Trade Representative announced in its annual report that it blacklisted AliExpress and WeChat for counterfeiting and piracy. The report stands for "notorious markets" that are "reported to engage in or facilitate significant levels of counterfeiting or copyright piracy."

However, this isn't the first time the United States has flagged Chinese companies and restricted their operations in the country. The controversy surrounding Donald Trump and TikTok is one of the most well-known cases.

According to the United States Trade Representative, the companies in question are "major China-based online marketplaces that are reported to significantly facilitate counterfeiting."

The USTR list includes 42 online markets and 35 physical markets that are identified as potential gateways for counterfeiting and copyright piracy. The list was created in 2011 to monitor and regulate companies and markets outside the United States.
