According to the latest rumors , Xiaomi could replace the successor to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with the Xiaomi MIX 5 Pro. However, a new Weibo post from an executive at the company suggests that isn't the case and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be here after all.
Xiaomi's main premium smartphone series has seen a small name change in 2022, but should definitely get a Mi 11 Ultra successor. This high-end model should probably be called Xiaomi MIX 5 Pro instead. Or not?
Now, however, those rumors have been refuted by a post on Weibo by Wang Teng, head of a Xiaomi branch in Henan. This claims that there will actually be a Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
The first of these flagships (the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra) was designed for release in 2020 to celebrate Xiaomi's 10th anniversary in the electronics market. Now, Wang Teng claims that the putative Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have a similar meaning: it will mark the recent anniversary of Lei Jun's tenure at the company.
The potentially newly confirmed device will appear to be launching "soon" and is said to have an extra large Leica-branded camera hump.
