Google still has a lot planned for its Pixel smartphones. After the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, a Pixel 6a will follow. But that should not be the only new smartphone. A folding cell phone is also to appear with the Pixel Notepad and that could be surprisingly affordable.
Google Pixel Notepad becomes an affordable folding cell phone
With the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Google has already shown that it is again willing to offer affordable Android smartphones that don't have to hide from the competition. The middle class will soon be rolled out with the Pixel 6a, but the company doesn't want to ignore the field of folding cell phones either. At least since the introduction of Android 12L, which is aimed specifically at large and foldable devices, it has been clear that Google wants to become active in the sector itself. The Pixel Notepad is supposed to do the trick and it should "only" cost $1,400 (source: 9to5Google).
While that would make the Pixel Notepad the most expensive Google phone ever, it would be noticeably cheaper than a comparable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 , which costs $1,799 in the US. Technically, Google should move in the high-end sector with its own Tensor chip. Details about the equipment are still missing. Just recently, only one picture appeared that could show the folding cell phone.
It'll be particularly interesting to see where Google moves with the Pixel Notepad . Will it take on more of an elongated model like Samsung's, or the significantly more attractive shape of the Oppo Find N. At least the recently surfaced graphic suggests the latter. Should Google then also install the great camera of the Pixel 6 Pro and a large battery, only the resilience would have to be right to be successful.
What makes the new Pixel smartphones from Google so special:
Pixel Notepad: Google makes us wait a little longer
While the Pixel 6a and a Pixel Watch are expected by the end of May, Google's Pixel Notepad will not be presented until the end of the year. Maybe together with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Then you would go head-to-head against the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which Samsung will unveil in the fall.
