3G, 2G or 2G+? The Corona rules in Germany are pure chaos. At least the proof of vaccination and test evidence should now be easier - thanks to version 2.16 of the Corona-Warn-App.
Whether 3G in local public transport, 2G in the cinema or 2G+ when visiting a restaurant: Corona still has Germany firmly under control, even in January 2022 there can hardly be any talk of normal everyday life. The creators behind the Corona-Warn-App know this too and have now simplified the display of vaccination and test certificates in version 2.16.
Corona-Warn-App simplifies the display of proof of immunity
Vaccination or recovery certificates and test certificates are now displayed in a combined display if they were stored in the Corona-Warn-App (source: Coronawarn.app). The advantage is obvious: Users and examiners can now see more quickly whether the required verifications have been fulfilled. The current status is shown in the upper right corner:

The switch within the certificates, which makes it possible to switch back and forth between proof of immunity and test, is also practical.
In version 2.16, the Corona-Warn-App distinguishes between:
3G : Users must show a vaccination or recovery certificate, a negative rapid test (max. 48 hours old) or a negative PCR test (max. 72 hours old). 3G+ : Same rules as 3G (see above), but a negative PCR test (max. 72 hours old) must be proven. 2G : Users must be fully vaccinated or recovered. 2G+ : Users must be fully vaccinated or recovered and also have a test. A rapid test must not be older than 48 hours, a PCR test no older than 72 hours.Important to know : Currently, those who have been vaccinated or recovered who have received a booster vaccination are still looking into the tube. According to the current legal situation, they are exempt from the obligation to prove a negative test under the 2G+ regulation. The Corona-Warn-App is not yet able to map this , but the developers promise improvements at this point.
Safe through the pandemic everyday life:
Specific innovations for Android and iPhone users
There are also specific innovations for Android and iPhone users in the latest version of the Corona-Warn-App. In the future, iPhone owners will receive clearer notifications when their risk status changes. A red dot in the status area draws your attention to new features. For Android users, on the other hand, the QR code scanner should work faster.
