The German authorities have been dealing with the Telegram Messenger for a long time. The Federal Office of Justice does not see Telegram as a pure messenger , but rather as a social network thanks to the ability to communicate in huge public groups. In this case, the Network Enforcement Act applies in Germany, which services such as Twitter or Facebook must also adhere to.
The new Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann wants to make Telegram responsible:
Death threats, insults or insults, as they have recently been increasingly expressed from the scene of the so-called lateral thinkers, are unacceptable and repeatedly violate legal limits, Buschmann told the newspapers of the Funke media group. Telegram has been in the focus since the Corona crisis and there the agitation against politics in Germany is getting louder .
