Samsung has not achieved the success that was hoped for with the Galaxy S21. That should change with the Galaxy S22 and that's why Samsung wants to improve one point in particular. It's about the camera. But is that enough?
Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus with new main camera
Samsung only installed a new main camera with a resolution of 64 MP in the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. It was actually expected that this sensor would continue to be used in the upcoming Galaxy S generation and that only the software would be optimized. According to a well-informed source, this is not the case. Instead, Samsung wants to install a new 50 MP sensor :
It is likely to be the new ISOCELL sensor from Samsung itself, which the company unveiled some time ago along with the 200 MP sensor for smartphones. This is larger and should therefore have a visibly better image quality. There is also a 3x telephoto lens and a 12 MP ultra wide angle lens . A 10 MP camera is installed on the front.
The 108 MP camera from the Ultra model of the Galaxy S22 has been omitted, but the new sensor should offer even better quality , especially in difficult lighting conditions . We would have liked a periscope zoom, but somehow the ultra version has to differ from the normal models. And that happens via the camera as well.
Here you can take another look at the differences between the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones:
Samsung Galaxy S22 isn't getting better everywhere
Samsung is installing a better main camera in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus and should make some optimizations in the design, but smaller batteries should also be installed. This should reduce the runtime, which should not please every user. We owe this to a more compact design. Both smartphones should be smaller compared to the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. So it remains to be seen whether Samsung customers want to make compromises again.
