OnePlus 9 (Pro): Update to Android 12 is available
OnePlus is currently distributing OxygenOS 12, which is based on Android 12. It starts with the current flagships, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. It may take some time before the update to Android 12 arrives on all phones.
OnePlus 9 (Pro): Update to Android 12 will be distributed
After several beta tests, OnePlus has now started distributing OxygenOS 12 . The first owners of a OnePlus 9 (Pro) have already received the Android 12-based operating system. An official announcement by the manufacturer is still pending (source: XDA Developers). Since updates are often offered in waves, it may take a while until all users receive Android 12, depending on the region.
In addition to all the improvements that Android 12 brings with it, OnePlus has refined its dark mode, among other things. It is now available in three stages. The notes app has been given a complete makeover and the shelf app has been redesigned. In addition, several apps that were previously reserved for the Indian market are now available globally. This applies to the work-life balance tools as well as "Scout", the universal search tool from OnePlus.
This is what Android 12 offers:
The revised user interface of OxygenOS 12 , which the manufacturer calls "Burdenless Design", is much more striking. Distractions should be minimized here and legibility increased overall. Redesigned system icons are also part of the game. After the OnePlus 9 (Pro), other OnePlus phones will be supplied with Android 12. These include the 7 and 8 series as well as the Nord series.
OnePlus: OxygenOS and ColorOS soon united
After the "integration" of OnePlus and Oppo, many more updates from OxygenOS are no longer to be expected. Already with the upcoming OnePlus 10 (Pro) a more or less new operating system is to be used that combines the properties of OxygenOS and ColorOS.
