Anyone who speculates on a completely redesigned iPhone SE in the coming year has to be prepared for a disappointment. This is what a well-known Apple expert claims. There should then be major changes in 2023. An old friend could then celebrate his comeback.
Ming Chi-Kuo is something like the personified crystal ball in the Apple universe. Hardly any expert or insider is more correct than the KGI Securities analyst. After Kuo has already commented on the AirPods Pro 2, his forecast is now for the upcoming iPhone SE 3. That unfortunately means: boredom.
iPhone SE 3 should only be a minimal update
We don't expect any major innovations in the iPhone SE 3 , believes Kuo (source: 9to5Mac). This applies to both appearance and equipment. Apple's latest economy cell phone should keep the design of its predecessor and there are allegedly no improvements in the RAM: 3 GB of RAM, as much as the iPhone SE 2 - nothing more should be in it.
After all: According to older reports, the iPhone SE 3 will get the new A15 chip. Conversely , this means 5G support and of course a lot of power . Whether that is enough to switch from the current iPhone SE 2 to the successor remains to be seen. After all, the current SE is not a lame duck either and the advantages of 5G are likely to be few and far between in everyday life.
Last year the iPhone SE 2020 impressed:
Is Apple recycling the design of the iPhone 8 Plus?
Postponed is not canceled. According to Kuo, there will be major changes to the SE lineup in 2023, including a significantly larger screen and then 4 RAM instead of 3 GB.
If we had to guess : Apple is recycling the old design of the iPhone 8 Plus and relaunching it as the iPhone SE 3. We consider it rather unlikely that the iPhone SE 3 will already have the "new" and home button-less look of the iPhone XR or even the iPhone 11.
