Often times, owners of Xiaomi phones have to wait a long time for Android updates. But there is a little trick you can use to speed up the process a little. I tested this with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and I am thrilled with the result. There is basically no downside.

Anyone who buys an Android smartphone, regardless of the manufacturer, expects regular updates. Samsung has blossomed into the market leader in this area, as updates are made available quickly for all current models. Xiaomi is not that fast, but it also delivers updates reliably. If you don't want to wait, you can use a trick that actually works, as I was able to try for myself.

In the end, it's very simple. All you have to do is change the region on your Xiaomi phone. If an update for your own smartphone is already available for download in another country, you change the region and an update is then offered. Just tried it with the Redmi Note 10 Pro . Of course, I chose Germany as the region when setting up the system and received some updates, but not MIUI 12.5. Then I set the region to India and I was immediately offered MIUI 12.5 as an update . If you stay in the region, you will see advertising. But while the update was still being downloaded, I switched back to Germany and no additional advertising was displayed.
