Google has had enough: two Pixel phones end up on the sidelines

After the introduction of the Pixel 6, it is now time to say goodbye, according to Google. The Pixel 3 and the larger XL version will no longer receive updates with immediate effect. Both phones came on the market at the end of 2018 and were particularly impressive with their cameras.

Pixel 3 (XL): Google pulls the plug

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL went on sale in October 2018. A little over three years later, according to Google, it is now time to say goodbye to the two phones . No further updates are to be expected from now on. This applies to both Android and security updates (source: XDA Developers). Accordingly, the November patch is no longer being distributed. Android 12 is still available on the two phones.

Saying goodbye to the Pixel 3 (XL) is not surprising , but it is still an inopportune time. So far, Google has not been able to solve the serious problem of the Pixel 3 (XL). Only Google itself currently knows whether that will ever be the case.
