Xiaomi wants to remain world number one: it will start manufacturing smartphones in Pakistan from January 2022

Xiaomi wants to remain the first company in the world in terms of smartphone sales, and every step they take is focused on it. Just yesterday, a statement filed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange has revealed that the Chinese firm will start producing smartphones in Pakistan from next January 2022.

The company aims to manufacture up to three million smartphones a year in these facilities , which will mean (according to Xiaomi own estimates) revenues that could reach 450 million dollars per year.

Xiaomi continues to expand its operations outside of China

The key details of this operation were presented this week to the Pakistan Stock Exchange by Xiaomi's local partner, Air Link Communication Limited. This production agreement has been carried out between Xiaomi itself and Select Technologies (Pvt) Limited (a subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited), which will be responsible for the production of mobile phones for the Asian firm in this territory.

As Air Link Communication Limited itself explains, the new investment made by Xiaomi points to an annual production target that aims to reach figures of between 2.5 million and 3 million units manufactured , with the consequent impact on the financial perspectives of the company.

The production plant in which these devices will be manufactured is located near the Air Link mobile phone manufacturing complex in Lahore , a company that will continue to maintain a large part of the Xiaomi smartphone distribution chain in Pakistan but which, thanks to its new facilities, will be able to produce a number of units higher than the one available up to now.
