{Disarmed} Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 One UI 4.0 Beta: 120 Hz refresh rate on the cover display no longer works
One of the notable improvements the Galaxy Z Fold 3 brought over the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was the high refresh rate support for the cover display. Both the main display and the cover display of the Z Fold 3 can be operated with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
However, it seems that the recently released Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 no longer allows for the high refresh rate on the outer screen. The outer screen runs on the One UI 4.0 Beta firmware at the standard 60Hz refresh rate. And it seems to be a widespread problem with Samsung taking note of it as well and promising to do it in the next One UI 4.0 Beta -Fix version for the Z Fold 3.
Since this is beta software, Samsung will of course not reveal when the next update will appear. So it could be that you will have to do without 120 Hz mode on the cover display for a few more weeks.
Fortunately, this problem does not currently affect German beta testers. Because in this country the test version of Android 12 for the Foldable is not yet available.
