OnePlus 6T

OxygenOs 11 is currently causing problems on the OnePlus 6 and 6T. OnePlus 6 and 6T users cannot download media from WhatsApp or access existing photos and videos.

After switching to OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 6T, some users are unable to download media from WhatsApp - including older photos and videos already stored on the phone. And there is another problem. Even creating a backup on Google Drive, then uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn't make things any better.

Attempting to back up the chat history on Drive failed. Resetting the system and using the one older local backup did not solve the problem either, as one was not able to download media even after a reboot. This is said to be a known issue in OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 6 and 6T.

The fact that a core feature of WhatsApp has not worked on these devices for such a long time is incredible and OnePlus needs to address this issue. There is currently no answer from OnePlus on this issue.
