Samsung Galaxy S22: lost touch with the competition?
Will the Galaxy S22 be a lame duck? At least in one important area, Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone could lose touch with the competition. China manufacturers such as Xiaomi in particular are clearly ahead.
Just plug it into the socket - and the empty smartphone has enough juice again for the day. Fast charging technology has revolutionized our everyday life. While Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Huawei or Oppo in particular add a shovel every year, Samsung has so far acted more cautiously. That doesn't seem to change with the Galaxy S22 either.
Samsung Galaxy S22 allows fast charging with 25 watts
The new smartphone series could be quickly recharged with just 25 watts , as the latest information from China suggests (source: Weibo via Android Authority). This means that Samsung's new top smartphone would charge much more slowly than the competition. For comparison: The Xiaomi 11T Pro charges with 120 watts in no time and takes just 17 minutes from 0 to 100 percent.
According to the Android Authority, it is possible that the Galaxy S22 could achieve higher charging speeds with third-party power plugs. The smartphone is unlikely to come close to the 120 watts of Xiaomi and other fast-charging top dogs .
In the video we clear up battery myths:
Lots of disappointments around the Galaxy S22
This is not the only disappointment that has been circulating in the rumor mill about the Galaxy S22 so far . Compared to its predecessor, the smartphone should have a smaller battery and only the ISOCELL-GN5 camera sensor, although Samsung still has two better camera sensors in its portfolio. The speculated collaboration with the camera experts from Olympus is probably off the table.
At least mobile gamers can look forward to ray tracing, which has so far only been known from consoles such as the PlayStation 5 or game PCs.
