iPhone 13: Apple is hiding a cool feature

According to Apple, the charging speed of the iPhone 13 has not officially changed compared to its predecessor. As it now turns out, this is not entirely correct and the manufacturer is hiding a cool feature. One model in particular can do more than Apple currently admits or advertises. But that requires a little trick.

So far, Apple has advertised the same charging speed for all models of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12, quote: "Fast charging: Up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W power adapter or higher (available separately)." Smartphone? Oh yes, because at least the iPhone 13 Pro Max can be filled with up to 27 watts according to current tests, whereas the predecessor only manages 21 or 22 watts (source: ChargerLAB via MacRumors).

iPhone 13 Pro Max can charge even faster with a 30 watt power adapter

In order for this to work, we have to resort to a trick, because instead of the 20-watt power supply recommended by Apple, there must be at least a USB-C power supply with 30 watts or more - available from Apple itself (view at Amazon) and of course cheaper from third-party providers (see Amazon). The trick only works properly with the aforementioned iPhone 13 Pro Max, the "normal" Pro only reached a maximum of 23 watts in the tests. Incidentally, the standard models of the iPhone 13 are generally not supposed to benefit from the trick, so they don't really load faster.

There are a lot of speculations about batteries, but which of them is actually true? In the video we get to the bottom of it:

Apple's reluctance is probably due to these differences in the charging speeds of the individual iPhone 13 models. It is better to communicate the lowest common denominator instead of unnecessarily confusing customers.

Attention: Small restriction

Another reason: In the tests mentioned, it was found that the iPhone 13 Pro Max cannot maintain the peak output of 27 watts over the entire charging cycle due to thermal conditions. Nevertheless, the new cell phone is a little faster refueled than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

So if you want to buy one of these or a new iPhone power supply unit, you should perhaps use a model with more charging power right away, at least the largest model of the iPhone 13 is already benefiting from it today, even if Apple expressly does not advertise it.
