Galaxy S22: Samsung copies the iPhone 13

A well-known insider has revealed what the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus should look like. Apparently, Samsung is orienting itself towards the competition and is copying two design features of the iPhone 13. Older reports about the camera of the Ultra model are also said to be incorrect.

According to current knowledge, Samsung is to present the Galaxy S22 series in February. As with its predecessors, the smartphone series probably consists of three models: Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. A well-known insider has now revealed interesting details about the appearance of both of the former.

Samsung Galaxy S22 (Plus) should look like the iPhone 13

So the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus should look "like an iPhone 13 without a notch" , it says in the tweet. Both the front and back are flat and the edges around the display are evenly thin. A "chin" or a "forehead", as is so often the case with Samsung smartphones, should therefore not exist in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus.

With a flat front and back, however, the two smartphones would continue the design elements of their predecessors. The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus also had a flattened back and front.

The fact that the insider explicitly refers to the iPhone 13 as a design template at least suggests that the edges of the device could also be flat . In the ideal case, Samsung would improve the handling because flat edges grip better than rounded ones. Xiaomi should also rely on this design feature for an upcoming smartphone.

There is also new information about the Galaxy S22 Ultra, especially the camera. According to Insider Ice Universe (source: Twitter), the older reports are said to be incorrect and the top model of the new smartphone series has a quadruple camera with a 108 MP wide-angle camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two telephoto lenses with 10 MP each and different optical zoom levels from three to a maximum of ten.
