The Xiaomi 11 Ultra is the top device in the Mi 11 series . After the full review, we have spent a month with him testing it even more in depth to tell you about new details that we have become aware of over time.
Despite the fact that Xiaomi is more known for its cheap smartphones than for high-end ones , the company also has certain models that seek to cope with the most complete devices.
Beyond the Mix 4 , which has not yet reached Europe , this is the most complete model of the firm, with which it wants to show that it can also make mobile phones above the 1,000 euro barrier. Let's see what the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra hides inside.

Its size and weight mean that it is not for everyone

The 234 grams make this a heavy mobile and although it is true that it costs, you end up getting used to it. It is not a precisely small mobile either, although it is compensated by the visual delight it supposes when playing multimedia content .
Using it with one hand is quite complicated , in addition to having a camera module that protrudes at the rear, the device tends to lean towards the top.

On this occasion, and as can be seen in the photographs, we have tested the white version . Very elegant and surprisingly clean, since the back is finished in a ceramic type glass that does not stain excessively and that feels very good in the hand.
Although, in general, it does not correspond to a dirty device, it is advisable to have a cloth at hand to clean the rear module of the main cameras. Especially because it has a small touch screen, located right next to it, which is very reminiscent of the Xiaomi Mi Band .
A great viewing experience

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a screen that is great not only for watching movies and series, but navigating through the different menus is really smooth thanks to the refresh rate at 120 Hz.
The quality of the panel is very good. In addition, it has good viewing angles, something complicated in the case of a smartphone with a screen that has a slight curvature and that although it is true that it has a very good grip. It must be said that we have not suffered any type of phantom stops due to its curvature.
The experience when consuming multimedia is completed in a really satisfactory way thanks to the speaker equipment that it integrates. The worst thing is the fingerprint sensor, which does not usually work the first time, although luckily it has a wide range of unlocking methods.
Power everywhere

The 11 Ultra is capable of running demanding processes without any problem , despite the fact that it gets quite hot when performing demanding tasks.
It is very useful for games, photo editing applications , image processing ... among many other actions that are often used in a smartphone of this type.
As we anticipated in the review, the 12 GB of RAM that this unit has is more than enough to make use of all the apps , even if you do not close them in multitasking, it continues to work correctly.
Long live telephoto lenses

Without a doubt, after more than 30 days with the device and hundreds of photographs taken, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has beaten us . More in photography than in video, where although it is true that the results are correct, but they do not reach the level of the captures that this device achieves in favorable light situations.
The colors are somewhat saturated, but we liked them a lot , it offers you some tones that are not very far from being realistic, but that give it a touch that makes them draw much more attention.
The " Wow " effect of this device is not found in the main sensor, although you take very good pictures, nor not with the ultra wide angle, but with the telephoto lens .

The Mi 11 Ultra equips a telephoto lens, specifically five times , which allows you to take pictures from a distance without losing quality. This obtains very good results, but the story of this Xiaomi 11 Ultra does not end there, but it is also capable of taking photographs of up to 120 increases.
We will see the best example below, going from a seascape with apparently nothing on the horizon, until we gradually increase the image.

A five-magnification zoom is more than enough on a day-to-day basis , but in general, you will seldom use the 120 times that the Mi 11 Ultra is capable of magnifying.
At night, the results are correct, but not exceptional . The catches are good, they are realistic, but not surprising, something that is quite shocking considering its good behavior in daytime situations. The night mode is activated automatically when it detects that it is a night scene.
There is a much more limited blur and color gamut compared to daytime photos , making photos appear to be moved by hand.

As for the selfie, it is correct, but a bit more sharpness and a somewhat wider color gamut are missing . The great advantage of this device is that you can always use the main camera as a front camera thanks to the fact that it is possible to use the main sensor.

What surprises me the most is that the lens on this smartphone moves, that is, you notice a small vibration when the device tries to focus.
Rear screen is useful, but not quite

If you look at the back of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, integrated into the camera module, you find a screen that is more or less the same size as a Xiaomi Mi Band 6 and through which it is possible to know the time, incoming notifications and even control the multimedia system.
The truth is that we have been able to get a lot out of it, even being able to take selfies using the rear camera, although it is not possible to record video with this screen active, which is quite striking.
The main problem it has is that it is tactile, its greatest virtue, it is also its main disadvantage , and it is really uncomfortable that, suddenly, while you walk down the street, the song you were listening to is automatically changed.
This phenomenon also occurs just when you are going to put your mobile in your pocket, so it is common for it to happen and it would be great if it was integrated into future models, it would be better worked.
Anyway, there is always the possibility of deactivating this small screen , although it would be to lose one of the qualities that make this Xiaomi 11 Ultra so special.
Getting to the end of the day is easy with fast charging

Although there are many ways to save battery, in this case, making use of the refresh rate at 120 Hz, a mixed use between WiFi and mobile data along with automatic brightness and GPS activated , the truth is that we have been able to get there at the end of the day when we have not been very demanding, but as soon as we have made intense use, it has to go through the charger.

Although going through the charger is no drama, since thanks to its 67 W of power , with having it plugged in for about 10 minutes, you can have the extra battery you needed and arrive left over until the night.
One month with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Despite the fact that Xiaomi is known for cheap mobiles, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the demonstration that, if it is determined, it can compete among the best cameras , which is right in the section where the different manufacturers put the most effort.
It is a really complete mobile, but its weight and dimensions make it difficult for it to be aimed at the mass . Also, when it hit the market, it was very difficult to come by given the few units that were distributed.
Anyway, now that Xiaomi has proven to be capable of making such a top mobile in the vast majority of aspects, what we hope is that it continues to work on the camera and it will include it in future devices in somewhat cheaper formats.
