Sony is really hyping its new flagship. Now there is even a promo video about the packaging of the device. The Sony Xperia Pro-I is completely plastic-free. Sony seems to be really proud of that, after all, they have released a more than 4-minute video for it.
The Sony Xperia Pro-I is the manufacturer's first smartphone with a 1-inch sensor. And Sony hopes to finally be able to play at the very top of the best smartphone cameras. The tests have to show this, but anything but a high ranking in the leaderboards will then be a big disappointment.
When it comes to packaging, however, they are one of the few manufacturers who completely do without plastic. In 2018, up to 26.8 percent plastic was used in Sony's smartphone boxes. Hopefully this will not only be the case with the box of the Xperia Pro-I, but also with all other boxes from the manufacturer!
Part of the cardboard was recycled to protect the environment as much as possible. Sony wants to leave a neutral ecological footprint by 2050.
