{Disarmed} Sony Xperia 1 IV should get an extensive camera upgrade
To make the devices more attractive, manufacturers are constantly increasing the resolution of the camera sensors on their smartphones. But there are still manufacturers who have not followed fashion. They include Sony and Apple. Sony now seems to be jumping on the megapixel craze.
For example, the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 IV should have an extensive camera upgrade. Not only should the number of sensors be increased to four, but also their resolution. So there should be three cameras with 48 MP and one 50 MP camera. And that's a clear leap over the Sony Xperia 1 III, which has a trio of 12 MP modules installed. Depending on the sensor, the pixel size should vary between 0.8 μm and 1.2 μm.
The 50 MP module will be based on a Sony IMX766 sensor with an optical format of 1 / 1.56ʺ, a 48 MP sensor will be a Sony IMX 689 or IMX 789 and another 48 MP sensor will also be a Sony IMX582 or Sony IMX586 with 1/2 inch.
We won't find out whether the camera in the Sony Xperia 1 IV will really be like this until the first quarter of next year, when the presentation of the new Japanese flagship is supposed to take place. Sony has published a teaser for a new Xperia device for October 26th, but the Sony Xperia 1 IV is not yet expected.
