{Disarmed} Samsung shows how it tests the durability of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 [video]
With the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung introduced the first waterproof foldable smartphones and today revealed how to ensure that the devices last a long time. A video shows the rigorous tests the devices go through before they hit the market.
According to the official press release, the foldable telephones must be able to be folded 200,000 times without being damaged - that means that a telephone can be folded and unfolded 100 times a day for five years.
The tests in the environmental chamber ensure that the phones work even in extreme weather conditions - dry or damp, hot or cold.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Flip 3 are also submerged underwater and subjected to extensive S Pen tests. The fine print of the video reads that it is not advisable to immerse them in salty sea water or even in a pool as chemicals are added to the water to keep it clean.
