Huawei also had a new smartwatch in its luggage today. The long-awaited Huawei Watch GT 3 was officially unveiled. This will be available in 2 versions, one with a diameter of 42 mm and also with a diameter of 46 mm. Here Huawei has chosen HarmonyOS 2.0 as the operating system.

Huawei introduced the Huawei Watch 3 series with a brand new design back in June. It was the first smartwatch to come pre-installed with the HarmonyOS operating system. Now the Chinese manufacturer has stepped up again and presented the GT series of the watch.

This watch comes with a brand new design and HarmonyOS as the operating system. The Huawei Watch GT 3 comes in two models - 42mm and 46mm.

Display and design

The 42 mm version of the Huawei Watch 3 has a 1.32 ″ and the 46 mm version has a 1.43 ″ AMOLED color display that supports touch, slide and gesture functions. The 46 mm variant is available in two colors - black and steel. The 42 mm, on the other hand, is announced in three colors: black, steel and gold.

Both models are made of stainless steel on the front and back and coated with plastic. In addition to the frame and the colors, the Watch GT 3 46 mm has a black fluoroelastomer strap, a leather strap and a stainless steel strap. The 42mm watch also has a fluoroelastomer strap, as well as a white leather strap and a gold Milanese strap.

As far as operation is concerned, these smartwatches have a physical button system with a crown on the top right, followed by a function button on the bottom right of the watch frame. The Watch GT 3 46 mm is designed for a wrist size of 140-120mm (42.6g without bracelet) and the Watch GT 3 42 mm for a wrist size of 130-190mm (35g without bracelet).

And that's not all: the Watch GT 3 offers you all-round protection with a water resistance of 5 ATM at a depth of up to 50 meters. The watch is powered by an ARM Cortex-M chipset and has 32 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.

The following sensors are located on the back:

  • Optical heart rate sensor
  • Air pressure sensor
  • Temperature sensor

The watch shows the time of sunrise and sunset every day, supports the display of different phases of the moon and informs you in real time about tide changes. The built-in altitude barometer monitors the current air pressure in real time and warns you of extreme weather conditions - additional protection for your outdoor adventures.

Health and fitness functions

The Huawei Watch GT 3 supports 100+ sport modes such as running, cycling, hiking, swimming, jumping rope and skiing. Whether you jump in the pool or sweat on the sports field, you can enjoy your workout to the fullest. The clock is also suitable for playing music.

Blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) is one of the most important vital signs that can reflect the oxygen supply to the body. The Huawei Watch GT 3 offers an automatic 24-hour detection of the SpO2 value. The Watch GT 3 can track sleep, monitor heart rate, regulate breathing and reduce tension when you are stressed.

Connectivity

Compared to the Huawei Watch 3 series, the Watch GT 3 does not have LTE connectivity. However, it does support bluetooth calling and GPS.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 46 mm version has a larger battery that should last for 14 days in the following situations: 30 minutes of Bluetooth calls per week, 30 minutes of music playback per week, activated heart rate monitoring, activated Huawei TruSleep function for sleeping, 90 Minutes of exercise per week (GPS enabled), message notifications enabled (50 SMS, 6 calls and 3 alarms per day), the screen turns on 200 times a day.

The battery lasts 8 days under the following conditions: 30 minutes of Bluetooth calls per week, 30 minutes of music playback per week, activated heart rate monitoring, activated Huawei TruSleep for sleeping, 180 minutes of exercise per week (GPS activated), activated message notifications (50 SMS, 6 calls and 3 alarms per day), the display is switched on for 30 minutes per day.

Compared to the 46 mm version, the 42 mm version of the Huawei Watch 3 can last for 7 days in the following situations: 30 minutes of Bluetooth calls per week, 30 minutes of music playback per week, heart rate monitoring activated, Huawei TruSleep activated for sleep, stress monitoring activated, 180 minutes of exercise per week (GPS activated), message notifications activated (50 SMS messages, 6 calls and 3 alarms per day), the display is on for 30 minutes per day.
