{Disarmed} Google Pixel 6: Massive Leak Confirms All Previous Rumors

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Google Store New York

The Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro are the next flagships from Google. While Google will officially present the devices on October 19, a massive new leak has confirmed practically everything that had been circulating as rumors on the net for days. And the leak reveals more information about the upcoming flagship duo.

Now the UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has accidentally published full marketing pages of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. There's a lot to read here. The pages are very extensive.

To begin with, the marketing sites confirm that both phones are equipped with the long-hyped mijia Eraser function. mijia Eraser can be used to remove photo bombs and unwanted objects from photos. The facial blurring function is also mentioned, now with the marketing name "Face Unblur". The new pixels will also be able to take better portraits that capture real skin tones across the spectrum. One of the pictures also reads: "Find out what's new with the Pixel camera, Google apps and more" - the choice of words is interesting, as it specifically refers to the Pixel camera and not the Google camera is.

The phones will also appear with an unspecified 50 MP primary camera on the back. The next point is the loading speed. Google is finally improving the charging speeds, which, according to the fine print on these pages, are now a maximum of 30 watts for both devices. The wireless charging speeds are 21 watts and 23 watts for the Pixel 6 and Pro, but only on the Qi-certified Google Pixel Stand 2nd Generation.

Some other tidbits mentioned on both sides are the inclusion of Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 on both devices. Interestingly, only the Pixel 6 Pro with an LTPO display with a variable refresh rate of 10Hz -120Hz is mentioned.

Another exclusive feature of the Pixel 6 Pro will be face unlocking, a feature that is missing in the security-related graphics of the Pixel 6's Pixel Security app. Fortunately, the other software features mentioned seem to be the same on both devices. There are mentions of Live Translate, Live Space widgets with a flight map and ongoing activities, and more.

Google also promises "at least 5 years of updates", although it does not state whether this relates only to platform updates or to platform and security updates. This longer update cycle is made possible by the control that Google has over its own Google Tensor processor.
