{Disarmed} Apple lowers sales forecasts for iPhone 13 due to chip crisis
So now Apple too! The manufacturer of the iPhone is now also affected by the global shortage of chips. Therefore, Apple is now lowering the sales forecasts for the models of the iPhone 13 series. And clearly!
Apple now plans to reduce its planned production of the iPhone 13 by 10 million units by the end of the year. This means that the 90 million devices originally planned for this year will not (can) not be produced. So around 80 million iPhone 13s will be produced.
However, this also means that there will be longer delivery times for certain models. It's already four to five weeks for the iPhone 13 Pro, and the trend is rising. So things may not run smoothly even at Apple during the Christmas season.
The problems are caused by Broadcom and Texas Instruments (TI), which apparently cannot deliver enough components (display chip components and cellular modems) in a timely manner.
