In case you missed it, Android 12 rolled out last night. Google posted a short post on the / r / Android_Beta subreddit detailing what Pixel owners who opted for the early beta program can expect when they move to the now stable version of Android 12. And between the everyday details there was a surprise: The test phase of Android 12 is not over yet, Google will release a new beta version in December.
The relevant excerpt from Google's contribution:
Google doesn't specify what exactly to test in this new beta version. It could be as mundane as starting an ongoing test for the monthly security patches, or something more interesting like getting early access to new features like previous developer previews and Android beta programs. Those who do nothing and keep their pixels in the program will automatically receive new beta updates from December.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it could be the "12.1" update that has been making the rounds in the network for some time. There functions for foldable devices are to be incorporated into Android.
Whatever Google's plans, if you want to participate, either register with your Pixel phone in the Android beta program or keep your already registered device. We'll find out more in December.
