The third generation AirPods are now available for 199 euros. The purchase should be considered carefully, because the AirPods 3 are not compatible with some Apple products. It looked different with the predecessors.
Apple: AirPods 3 are not fully compatible
Apple has just presented its new AirPods and is sending them on sale for 199 euros. Outwardly, they are reminiscent of the AirPods Pro, although some Pro functions are not available. Active noise suppression (ANC) still has to be avoided. But a completely different problem has now become clear, because there is a problem with compatibility.
Unlike the AirPods 2, the successors can not provide "some functions" in combination with other Apple products. In any case, iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 must be installed. For example, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and iPhone 5s are no longer available (source: Apple). Even with the first generation iPad Air and the iPad mini 2 and 3, the AirPods 3 do not work as some users imagine. Audio sharing, for example, is not supported at all and owners also have to do without the Conversation Boost.
The products mentioned should also manage the pure connection via Bluetooth with the AirPods 3. At least Apple doesn't mention the opposite in this regard. Connections with Android phones are therefore still available.
