Huawei MateStation X: new competition for iMacs
At an event in China, Huawei presented the MateStation X, which would like to present itself as a possible alternative to Apple's iMac . Both the chic design and the equipment are impressive. Windows 10 is included as the operating system, Huawei also promises seamless communication with its own HarmonyOS system (source: Huawei at Weibo).
The screen of the Huawei MateStation X has a diagonal of 28.2 inches in a 3-by-2 format. The resolution is 3,840 x 2,560 pixels and the brightness is up to 500 nits. According to the manufacturer, the IPS panel can display 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space with a contrast ratio of 1,200 to 1. Externally, the MateStation X is strongly reminiscent of the MateView monitor from Huawei. The case is made of aluminum and the edges are much narrower than the Apple iMac (2021). There was no need for a big chin.
More about the MateStation X can be found in the video :
The equipment does not promise absolute top performance , but in many cases it should be more than sufficient. For the processor, customers have the choice between a Ryzen 5 5600H and a Ryzen 7 5800H with six or eight cores. When it comes to gaming, there are clear advantages compared to the Apple counterpart. There are no options for working or permanent storage; 16 GB DDR4 RAM and an SSD with 512 GB capacity are always used. Stereo speakers and even a small subwoofer are included.
Huawei MateStation X: only sold in China
Initially, Huawei would like to offer its MateStation X in the home market. The manufacturer has not explained when the all-in-one computer will also be available in Europe. The prices in China are between 1,314 and 1,578 euros .
