Samsung calls the new technology ChameleonCell. The 200 MP sensor can use it to generate photos in various resolutions that can bring out more in certain situations. For example, you can take a 12.5 MP photo when the lighting conditions are poor. The 200 MP are then combined into larger pixels and the software does the rest. Alternatively, a 50 MP mode is included, where 8K content can then also be produced. This also includes videos with 30 frames per second.

Samsung officially announces that the new 200 MP sensor is available for prospective buyers. But the chances are very good that Samsung will also use the camera in the Galaxy S22 Ultra . Another buyer would be Xiaomi. The Chinese company probably wants to install a 200 MP sensor in the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The software will then decide which photos look better.

In addition to the 200 MP sensor, Samsung has also presented a 50 MP sensor called "ISOCELL GN5".
