{Disarmed} Samsung Galaxy S22 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 appears in Geekbench
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has now appeared in Geekbench. The results of the benchmark are still relatively uninteresting because they are still pre-production models or prototypes. Nevertheless, the entry reveals some details about the phone, for example that an Adreno 730 GPU is built in and information about the built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 898.
Qualcomm will be unveiling the Snapdragon 898 over the next several months, and details on this flagship chipset have gradually been leaked over the past few days. It will probably be that time again at the beginning of December. The latest leak reveals some information about the onboard GPU of the SoC of the Galaxy S22.
Apparently, the Snapdragon 898 will be equipped with Qualcomm's own Adreno 730 on the GPU side. Initial benchmarks indicate that the Snapdragon 898 could offer a slightly worse GPU top performance than its competitor, the Exynos 2200. The Snapdragon 898 has three cores with a large Cortex-X2 core that is clocked at 3.0 GHz clocked at 2.5 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.79 GHz. These should be the new Cortex-A710 or Cortex-A510 cores.
The Geekbench test was performed on a device that appears to be the Galaxy S22 with the model number "SM-G901U". The phone is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and runs on Android 12. Until we get the new flagships presented, it should be January 2022.
