{Disarmed} Oppo plans to announce ColorOS 12 in September, further details are expected soon
Oppo was expected to announce details regarding Colo OS 12, which is based on Android 12, today. That doesn't seem to be the case, as the company has only just given us a rough timeline of when we can expect the new user interface.
According to Oppo's Weibo post released today, ColorOS 12 will be out around mid to late September. This also suggests that Google's stable Android 12 build will be out very soon too.
In early July, Oppo revealed that the systems team was already testing ColorOS 12. Back then, the report showed that the changes to the UI design are relatively large, which is something to look forward to.
According to the previous statement, ColorOS 12 will support cross-screen connection function, and Windows devices will support close and instant connection, cross-device file transfer and other functions.
ColorOS 12 is likely to implement some of the features introduced with Android 12. However, no major changes are expected following Material YOU guidelines. Some subtle UI features could be there, like the wallpaper-based colors etc. Oppo will also introduce a number of changes with its next upgrade.
Rumor has it that ColorOS 12 will offer a feature similar to Huawei's multi-screen collaboration. The function will be ColorOS Cross-Screen Interconnection.
