{Disarmed} Oppo & Kodak: partnership for flagship with two 50 MP cameras?
In July of this year, it was rumored that Realme had partnered with Kodak to develop better cameras for its smartphones. Apparently, the Realme mother Oppo also works with Kodak, as a current rumor says.
Digital Chat Station, a fairly reliable leaker from China, has now announced that Oppo's next flagship will use two of Sony's new IMX766 sensors. He further revealed that the Chinese manufacturer is working with Kodak to produce a smartphone that mirrors Kodak's classic camera design.
The heart of the camera should be the Sony IMX766 50MP, 1 / 1.5 ″ sensor. The camera will have an ultra wide angle camera with a large sensor similar to that of the Find X3 Pro. The device is also said to have a 13 MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom and a 3 MP microscope camera, just like the Oppo Find X3 Pro.
The news comes as a surprise considering that Kodak has long since gone out of its camera business. The company went bankrupt in 2012 and then shifted its focus to hardware and software for printing solutions.
Nothing is official yet, so be skeptical. If there is really something to it, there should be more details in the coming days.
