{Disarmed} 120 million upgrades: Rapid proliferation of HarmonyOS smartphones continues
As of September 23, HarmonyOS has now reached 120 million upgrades. Huawei announced these numbers at the Huawei Nova 9 series event. This means that a further 20 million upgrades have been achieved within a very short time, because the 100 million mark was only reached on September 13th.
The "120 million HarmonyOS upgrades" are not really surprising, because HarmonyOS is currently being distributed extremely quickly to the corresponding devices in China. Above all, however, the Chinese manufacturer also ensures that HarmonyOS also reaches older models.
HarmonyOS 2.0, which launched on June 2nd, has new user interface widgets and a range of features including the control panel, service widgets that let you see important content on the home screen, and snippets for the best shortcuts -Apps available in every software ecosystem.
After the launch on June 2, 2021, 25 million upgrades were celebrated by the end of June. Then it went on in rapid succession. Huawei reported 30 million HarmonyOS 2.0 installations on July 8, 2021, and 40 million installations on July 29, 2021. In August 2021 the number of installations exceeded 50 million downloads and on August 30th 70 million installations were reached and in mid-September it was 100 million.
Since the distribution is even going better than expected, Huawei has set a new, gigantic milestone by the end of the year. 400 million devices should be on the road with HarmonyOS by the end of the year.
