Xiaomi has had to deactivate this function of the Mi Mix 4 when not complying with a national regulation
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has become one of Xiaomi's most interesting and probably desired smartphones. This is due not only to its ceramic finish design or its practically invisible selfie camera , but also to other interesting functionalities, among which we find one that has had to be deactivated.
Apparently, Xiaomi has had to deactivate one of the star functionalities of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 after breaking a national regulation. Without going any further, we talk about the anti-theft mode.
This mode allowed the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to be recovered even if its SIM card was removed
Unlike the anti-theft mode that we can find in other devices of the firm, that of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 allows us to locate the device even if the SIM card has been removed from its interior and therefore, it is left without a direct connection to the Internet.
To achieve this, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is able to activate the eSIM automatically once the conventional SIM card is removed , automatically inserting its pin and therefore, having an Internet connection again.
Well, apparently this mechanism does not comply with certain Chinese regulations , resulting in Xiaomi having to deactivate this star functionality of its Mi Mix 4, at least for the moment. Similarly, it is expected that soon, after several adjustments, it will be operational again since it undoubtedly greatly increases security in case of loss or theft.
