Google Fast Pair: Hardly anyone knows this useful Android function

Apple has shown it with its AirPods, but owners of Android smartphones can also simplify the Bluetooth connection with wireless headphones. Google's Fast Pair is hardly known, although more and more manufacturers are relying on the standard.

Google Fast Pair: Fast Bluetooth pairing on Android

When Apple presented its first AirPods, the Android community was amazed. Such a simple and quick pairing of the wireless mini headphones with the iPhone was a real novelty. Google has long since followed suit for the Android world and has now introduced an improved and polished user interface for Fast Pair . This means that Bluetooth devices can also be connected quickly and easily under Android.

With Fast Pair, the location of the Android smartphone in relation to the Bluetooth device plays a decisive role. If, for example, headphones are in the immediate vicinity, the connection can be established with a single tap on the Android mobile phone's display. In many cases, a matching picture of the headphones is also displayed on the smartphone so that the wrong device is not accidentally connected. Paired devices are now also saved in the Google account to make connecting even easier.

More than 100 devices from different manufacturers can now be easily connected via Fast Pair. In addition to headphones, smartwatches and speakers are also supported. In addition to Google, OnePlus, Fitbit, Bose, Sony and JBL rely on Fast Pair. The list is likely to get longer in the future.

Google Fast Pair: keep an eye on the battery

Fast Pair can do more than just provide a fast pairing via Bluetooth. If at least Android 10 is installed on the smartphone, the charge level of the battery of the connected device can be monitored on the mobile phone. If you want, you can give the wireless headphones their own name here. Support for Google's Find My Device is also included.
