Xiaomi is nowhere short of surpassing Apple and positioning itself as the second largest manufacturer
Canalys has published its new report for the first quarter of 2021 . A quite complicated period of time due to the shortage of chips and the current situation caused by the pandemic, but that have not prevented Xiaomi from continuing with its growth .
Without going any further, X iaomi has once again positioned itself as the brand with the highest growth so far this year . Although, in the first quarter of 2020 it managed to sell some 30.2 million smartphones, in this 2021 the figures have risen 62% to reach 49 million.
With this, Xiaomi is getting closer and closer to Apple, managing to obtain a market share of 14% compared to the 15% obtained by the Cupertino-based firm. An increasingly smaller difference that makes us think that throughout the current quarter Xiaomi will be able to surpass Apple , placing itself as the second largest manufacturer.
Beyond this, Oppo has also been hitting hard , managing to obtain a growth of 60% compared to the same period last year. After this we find Vivo with a growth of 48%, while other brands such as Samsung "only" have managed to obtain a 28% growth, thereby maintaining its current 22% market share and therefore, market leader.
Ultimately, Xiaomi seems to go all out, increasing its presence in the market day after day as this new market analysis shows. We will see what happens throughout this second quarter and if it finally manages to surpass Apple thanks to the sales of the Redmi Note 10 Series and the POCO F3 .
