Through its latest smartphones, Xiaomi has implemented support for Dolby Vision as an alternative to HDR10 + , a superior video technology that manages to offer us more vivid colors and a higher level of brightness.
At a theoretical level, Dolby Vision is a superior technology to HDR10 +, offering a color depth of 12 bits (10 bits in HDR10 +) and up to 10,000 nits of brightness compared to the 4,000 nits offered by HDR10 + technology.
Although on a practical level this data may be insignificant in a current smartphone, the truth is that Dolby Vision technology is more flexible and also has more content availability every day . In the case of HDR10 +, the availability of content is quite limited.
In summary, Dolby Vision technology manages to offer us a better display of colors, these being more realistic . In addition, by having a wider color depth, the colors that can be projected are much wider than those offered by HDR10 +.
