Prevent your Xiaomi applications from closing: how to keep them in the background
MIUI usually has a fairly aggressive management of the use of RAM . In order to have enough memory for other apps in use or simply to improve battery consumption, Xiaomi's customization layer deactivates or closes the applications in the background .
Although in itself, this management can have great advantages, the truth is that it is usually quite counterproductive in certain cases. For example, if we use Mi Fit to connect our Xiaomi Mi Band 5 or any other app to synchronize our smartwatch and we do not keep it always active in the background, it will no longer link correctly with our wearable.
That is why blocking and keeping applications in the background on our Xiaomi is essential for the expected operation. Next we will show you how to block and always keep an application active in MIUI.
Prevent background applications from closing on your Xiaomi
We already have a Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO, to prevent the applications from closing in the background , the steps to follow are the following:
- Access multitasking, either through the navigation button or through gestures (swipe from the bottom to the top).
- Press and hold the application that we want to block so that it always stays in the background.
- Click on the padlock icon.
In this way, we will be able to keep the applications in the background . In addition, so that they never close, it is convenient to make the following adjustments:
- Go to Settings> Battery and performance
- Once inside we will click on the upper gear icon and we will go to « Battery saving in applications «.
- After that we will look for the application that we do not want to close, click on it and select " No restrictions ".
With this we will be getting that the battery saver does not restrict the use of the application and therefore never closes.

ReplyDeleteI have been using Hangouta quit for a long time in other phone. I recently bought Xiaomi 11 NE LITE. I noticed one problem with Hangouts ans Skype App.
ReplyDeleteProblem: Whenever screen is off, like in Lock mode I'm not getting notification from the apps, only if I unlock my phone I get notification about the messages or missed call. I checked with other Mobiles Like Realme X2 and OnePlus 6 it's working fine for them.
Any suggestions on this?
I tried to Keep App has no restrictions, like you said in this post. But, still I'm missing out Calls and messages notifications.
There's no lock for the app on xiaomi redmi 9t
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a Redmi note 10 5G. When I listen music with Jetaudio, it shuts off after 30-60 minutes in background. Battery management is set to no restriction, but no effect. If I use more app on focus, FB, Gmail, Chrome, it closes much faster. When i try to resume jetaudio, it looks like it freezed at last position as I sent it to background, and it begins to play on that position again, but not where it went offline. Any opinion?
ReplyDeleteThis no longer works. now when you hold an app in multitask, it only goes to the "app info" section. wtf. anyone have a solve to this?
ReplyDeleteTook me about 3 weeks to find the solution. Go to Security>tap settings (gear on top right)>Boost speed>Lock apps> Lock the app you need to keep running.
DeleteSo this replaces de "padlock" icon that no longer is visible in MIUI 13.
Trying to remove battery usage restrictions for the app does not solve.the problem.
