Razer Naga Pro is three mice in one. FPS, MOBA and MMO panels were connected to the sensor for 100 hours - review
The mice from the Razer Naga series have always been an interesting solution for MMO and MOBA fans, but they have always been associated with compromises and sacrifices. Replaceable panels or wireless mode? A capacious battery or a number plate? The Razer Naga Pro is the first model to have it all.
2017-2019 was a difficult period for Razer mice. Although appreciated by fans, the rodents could not cope with the wireless offerings of the competition. Razer offered devices that work for 20-35 hours on a single charge, compared to rivals' devices that exchange information with the same frequency, but last several times longer without a cable. The company had to go back to the design table and make up for the shortcomings in technology.
The result of these actions is the wireless HyperSpeed Wireless standard and the Focus + sensor designed by PixArt. Razer can finally offer wireless rodents that last over 100 hours in 2.4 GHz connectivity, again counting in the race for computer gamers' wallets. With the announcement of the new Naga, the company's target are especially fans of MOBA, cRPG and MMO genres.

The Razer Naga Pro repeats the idea with interchangeable panels in the Naga Trinity.
In the box with the mouse you will find three left removable panels with magnetic snaps. The first one has two side buttons and stabilizing tires, useful when playing first-person shooters. The second panel has six side buttons and stabilizing tires, useful for MOBA fans. The third panel is distinguished by a dial with as many as twelve numeric buttons to accommodate all the most important skills of the characters in an MMO or cRPG game.
The great thing is that we can change the panels on the fly and the software picks up the changes immediately. There is no need to reset the mouse or connect it to a PC with a cable. First I play Valorant, then turn on World of Warcraft, change the panel, and my warlock skills are already assigned to the number dial. It works flawlessly, in turn, thanks to five profiles in the device's built-in memory, we can adjust the action buttons to individual FPS / MOBA / MMO games.
Also, I cannot write a bad word about the grip and stability of the side panels. I have heavy fingers and thick hands. I am exerting a lot of pressure on the spine and sides of the device, yet I don't feel the modular nature of the rodent at all. Nothing sticks out here, moves or creaks. The naked body remains homogeneous and the panels fit perfectly together. My only pain is that the part with the numeric dial has been stripped of tires. I understand that when the side takes up twelve buttons, there is no room for such additions. Still, the thumb feels uncomfortable. A matter of habit.
100 hours on a single charge. Unfortunately, without the stand.
The good news is that with 2.4Ghz wireless connectivity, with an information exchange rate of 1000Hz, the Razer Naga Pro runs for around 100 hours on a single charge. It may not be the best result in the world, but Razer has finally achieved the performance desired and expected by players. If we also use Nagi Pro while browsing multimedia and surfing the web, then it is worth thinking about switching to Bluetooth mode. Then 100 hours becomes 150 hours.
The bad news is that the box does not contain an effective, illuminated charging stand from Razer (shown below). This one has to be purchased separately. Of course, we can easily charge the rodent using the cable included in the set, while using the mouse in wired mode. A minor compensation for the lack of a charging stand may be a cable stabilizing module that prevents tension.

The Focus + sensor is nothing but a supercharged PixArt PMW 3399.
The new, universal Razer sensor is now installed in both the most expensive and the cheapest rodents of the company. Focus + is actually the PixArt PMW 3399 module, which Razer currently has exclusivity on. PMW 3399 completely eliminates the light smoothing, characteristic of the previous 3389. However, in terms of broadly understood precision, PixArt has long since reached the ceiling, indicating the sensor 3366. PMW 3399 grows from the same root, thus the results of the optical module are almost exemplary .
The test on a three-meter control rail showed an accuracy of 98%, with imperfections within the tool error. Razer Naga Pro is a rodent in which the muscle memory will be used optimally, and the acceleration effect does not occur. There is also no question of interpolation. The negative effect does not appear at any of the DPI values used by players, and the 2 + 1 effect starts high above 10,000 DPI. At the same time, even with a maximum value of 20,000 DPI (art for art), the sensor can work without interpolation.
To put it simply, the Razer Naga Pro significantly exceeds the requirements of MOBA and MMO genres. In terms of speed of reaction and precision, the rodent would be able to deal with network FPS without any problems. The only obstacle may be its shape. The mouse is very wide, and the lump pouring out to the sides blur the feeling of holding a precise spear in the hand, e.g. built by the DeathAdder model.

Naked is no longer naked. We are dealing with a full package.
The modular rodent is an idea almost as old as the first full 3D MMORPG. The Razer Naga Pro, however, is the first mouse in the series where we do not have to make compromises. In the past, we chose between the lack of removable panels, poor operating time on a single charge and a cable. Now, the lesser evil ceases to exist, and the Razer Naga Pro is full service and all options in one product. It's a pity it's so late, but better late than never.
The biggest advantages:
- Very good optical sensor
- Acceptable time on one charge (100h)
- Replaceable panels for MOBA and MMO players
- Continuity of gameplay during construction changes
- Three communication modes
- The best nude ever for Razer
The biggest disadvantages:
- Price (170 euro)
- Charging stand not included
- The wide shape works badly with FPSs
At the moment, the biggest disadvantage of the rodent is its price, set at 170 euros. However, the stakes will melt over time, and then Naga Pro will become a very interesting choice for MOBA and MMO fans. For fans of online shooters, however, I recommend the wired DeathAdder V2 - noticeably cheaper, and with the same great optical sensor. Naga's wide housing pushes the device into a cRPG niche, where the mouse feels like a fish in the water.
