The LineageOS developers have started developing version 18 based on Android 11.

It has now been announced on Twitter that the latest Android iteration will also be found in the popular Custom ROM LineageOS. The starting shot for the development has been given.

But it will take a few more months before you have a finished product. With a bit of luck, the first test versions of LineageOS 18 could appear this year.

And that should especially please users of older devices. Because many of these should no longer get an official Android 11 update for their devices. But thanks to LineageOS you can enjoy the new version.
