Android: September 2020 security update for Pixel devices is here

Yesterday was not the first Monday of the month, but Tuesday. Google also released the September 2020 Android security patch for Pixel phones yesterday in the wake of the launch of Android 11 .

If you are interested, you can update the devices immediately. There are both factory images and OTA files to download and flash. So everything as known.

The new updates are available for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

The source code patches for the issues will be released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) in the next 48 hours. As always, it is split into 2 patches:

2020-09-01 Security Patch Level : This security patch level string comprises 20 security vulnerabilities classified as high and 3 as critical.

2020-09-05 Security Patch Level : This security patch level string includes 24 security vulnerabilities classified as high and 5 as critical.
