Invariably, in this price range, most people should stay away from Samsung, as Chinese manufacturers' propositions are usually much better. However, for many Poles, Samsung is now the only major manufacturer of Android smartphones, after even Robert Lewandowski is not able to convince us that it is worth buying Huaweia without Google services.

In the range up to PLN 1,000, we find the Samsung Galaxy M21 model, which has at least two aces up its sleeve.

The first ace is the screen. Not IPS LCD, like the vast majority of devices from this shelf, but Super AMOLED with a 6.4 "diagonal and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px. It guarantees deep blacks, higher contrast and better viewing angles than standard screens that can be found in phones up to PLN 1000.

The second ace is the accumulator. The Galaxy M21 powers a cell with a capacity of up to 6000 mAh, which, combined with energy-saving components, should translate into up to three days of economical use, or two days of normal operation.

In other respects, it is also not poor here. The heart of the Samsung Galaxy M21 is the Exynos 9611 processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of data space. There is no shortage of NFC for contactless payments and a headphone output. There is also a Dual SIM, and the whole thing is Android 10.

The cameras also look decent - we have a standard combination of a 48 Mpix sensor and an 8 Mpix camera with an ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. We will take a selfie with a resolution of 20 Mpix.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 can definitely be liked, and in addition to buying it for cash, we can also get it in attractive offers from operators.

Although Redmi Note 9 is already on the market, Redmi Note 8 Pro is still a device worthy of attention, especially since its price has already dropped to such a level that we can easily find the 6/64 GB variant at a price below PLN 1000, and the 6 variant / 128 GB only PLN 100 more.

The distinguishing feature of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is undoubtedly the camera, one of the best in this segment. The main sensor has 64 Mpix and a very bright lens. The ultrawide lens is combined with an 8 Mpix sensor, and we also have a 2 Mpix depth sensor and a redundant 2 Mpix macro lens.

The main sensor as well as the 20-megapixel selfie camera, however, take good enough photos that you can forgive the shortcomings of the other cameras.

Redmi Note 8 Pro is also distinguished by a construction that is not plastic - like the above-mentioned Samsung - but made of a combination of an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass 5 glass. On the back, the glass covers quite beautiful backs, and in the front an IPS LCD screen with a diagonal of 6 , 53 "and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px.

The components are also decent - we have a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, 6 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB of data space. The whole is powered by a 4500 mAh battery. There is no lack of NFC, Dual SIM and a headphone jack.

In fact, the only significant drawback of this smartphone is its release date. As the phone was released a year ago, it hit customers with Android 9.0, and although it will probably receive Android 10, it is doubtful that it will receive any updates after that, apart from security patches.

Nokia 5.3 Dual SIM is a niche offer for those who still have nostalgic love for the once-iconic brand. It is also a decent phone, the greatest strength of which is the combination of a light, fast system overlay for Android 10 and a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of data space. This phone is fast and costs only PLN 900.

Nokia 5.3 also has decent cameras for this price range, or at least the main sensor with a resolution of 13 Mpix takes good photos. The other cameras are 5 Mpix with an ultrawide lens, 2 Mpix with a macro lens and a monochrome 2 Mpix sensor. It's a pity that the selfie camera is only 8 megapixels.

In the case of this model, the surprise is the display, which has a large diagonal (6.55 "), but quite low resolution (1600 x 720 px). It is not as expressive as the screens of other smartphones in this list, but it should provide more energy efficiency in combination with a not too large 4000 mAh battery.

Nokia 5.3 would not be my first choice if I were to recommend a smartphone to someone up to PLN 1000, but given the strong sentiment of Poles to this brand and the frequent presence of the phone at various promotions, there will certainly be people willing to buy it.
