iPhone 12 is to have a smaller battery than 11. I m writing a letter to Tim Cook

Dear Tim Cooku. I am writing this letter because I have just read that your company wants to do something very, very stupid. iPhone 12 can be a step backwards.

Dear Mr. Cook,

I dreamed of buying an iPhone for my own use for years. I looked with envy at the apples on the covers of my colleagues' smartphones, and for years at each premiere I told myself "next time I take".

Many times, however, nothing came of it. In part, dear Mr. Cook, that your company's smartphones were horrendously expensive compared to competitors' devices. I don't blame the Lord. You have to earn, and prestige costs you.

However, the main thing that deterred me from buying was the prospect of living with a device whose working time on one charge can be described as "barely acceptable" at best. No offense, Mr. Cook, but such working time did not match such great devices.

In the end, however, came the moment when I got the iPhone XR, in which your company went to something unusual - instead of slimming down the slim case again, it suddenly became thickened. Not enough to disturb the beautiful silhouette of your company's work, but enough to fit a slightly larger battery. It was enough for the iPhone - the same iPhone that I have always associated with the infamous anti-campaign advertising of your main competitor's "Wall huggers" - to sweep away every other phone I've ever used.

What a breath of freshness! And when I saw that the iPhone 11 also offers such a splendid working time, I bought it without hesitation and to this day I am glad that I do not have to charge it every day.

With great amazement, I took note today of the information provided by the MySmartPrice service , which states that your company has just received certification of new batteries, which - I think - are to be used in the upcoming iPhone 12.

Is the iPhone 12 really supposed to offer less battery capacity than the existing generation of products?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but are these values correct?

  • iPhone 12 (5.4 ") - 2227 mAh
  • iPhone 12 Max (6.1 ") - 2775 mAh
  • iPhone 12 Pro (6.1 ") - 2775 mAh
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7 ") - 3687 mAh

After reading the source information, I still hope that it is still a mistake or deliberate act to the detriment, because I find it hard to believe that your company would actually take such a step.

After all, last year's iPhones had a much larger battery capacity:

  • iPhone 11 - 3110 mAh
  • iPhone 11 Pro - 3046 mAh
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max - 3969 mAh

It is difficult for me to explain the legitimacy of reducing cells by almost 250 mAh in each of the models.

I understand that your company's latest smartphones will be equipped with new generation energy-saving components, but is it reasonable to deprive new iPhones of these additional milliampere hours?

As a consumer who was convinced by the purchase of the iPhone only the larger links in the 11 model, I perceive this change as undesirable and unfavorable.

I trust that if this is true, the deficiencies in battery capacity will be properly compensated by the above mentioned energy saving of components and optimization of the software.

Otherwise, I will be forced to look for an alternative in the form of a smartphone of one of your company's competitors, which I would not want, however, because the last months of using the iPhone 11 were pure pleasure.

Not expecting an answer, with kind regards,
Concerned Consumer.

PS. On the other hand, I am happy that the iPhone 12 Pro Max is to reach consumers with a fast 20 W charger. As far as I think it will be the only iPhone 12 in the packaging of which we will find such an addition?
