Has your Intel Optane memory computer started going crazy unexpectedly? The latest development update for Windows 10 is to blame. The patch is on its way.
Windows 10 2004 was the longest tested update in the history of the system and the most carefully introduced to the market. This gave rise to the hope that eventually we will be able to switch to the new version of the Microsoft platform without any problems. Hope, though dying last, had to leave us eventually. The new version of Windows does not get along with selected types of Intel Optane memory.
Windows 10 2004 does not work properly with Intel Optane H10 and M10 memories.
After updating, the computer will start to inform us about numerous errors related to memory management. In fact, the entire Optane mechanism stops working, which significantly affects storage performance. Fortunately, there are no problems with system stability. At least this.
Unfortunately, this is a big disgrace. Although Optane memories are rare, there are two things to keep in mind. First of all, as we mentioned above, Windows 10 2004 was tested a record long. Secondly, testers reported errors with Optane memory to Microsoft, and he introduced the update to the distribution anyway - without blocking its availability for devices with the said technology.
Intel is already working on updating the firmware to Optane memory, which it is to provide to Microsoft immediately after completion of work. We also expect Microsoft to suspend distribution of the 2004 version to owners of computers with Optane memory. So he will do something that he should do at the very beginning.
