Question to open the week: will you buy a new smartphone without a charger in the box?

According to a well-known and respected analyst, Apple will want to save some money in the production of the next-generation iPhone and is seriously considering selling an incomplete device. I expose myself to mockery, but I support such an approach.

Last month there was the first rumor suggesting that in the iPhone 12 box we won't find Earpods headphones . Apparently, Apple wants to increase sales of its Airpods wireless headphones in this way. Now the well-known and respected Ming-Chi Kuo analyst predicts - as Macrumors reports - that we won't even find a charger in the box. We will have to buy this separately.

The only cable that will be added to the box is an adapter from Lightning to USB-C, probably left behind so as not to piss off European officials. Kuo claims that Apple's main motivation is the desire to reduce production costs - apparently the addition of a 5G modem and appropriate antennas to the new phone significantly affected the price of the entire device. However, I see a completely different use here. Maybe I am too crazy a tree cuddler, but I support the idea very much.

These terrible electro-waste.

According to UN data from 1.5 years ago, the world in 12 months produces up to 50 million tons of electro-waste, of which only 20 percent. are recycled. The report also poetically illustrates this mass by comparing it to the mass of all passenger aircraft that were produced in world history. This is a huge problem, directly threatening not only plants and other animals, but also us.

Most of us already have a charger and headphones. Adding them to the next iPhone basically has only one goal: that after purchasing the device the customer receives a complete product that works without the need to make further purchases. It's such a consumer savoir-vivre - giving up these supplements is not welcome. It's out of the ordinary .

However, in the face of a real threat to our ecosystem, we should change our attitude and expectations. I couldn't find any research on this topic, but I am absolutely convinced that most of the new chargers and basic headphones attached to new phones land somewhere in a box with cables that they usually never leave. How many of us will buy the iPhone 12 as our first cell phone? After all, we already have it inherited from previous devices. And if we don't have one, we'll buy a charger in almost every electronics store or at most gas stations.

I am not blind - I read comments under texts related to rumors about the lack of headphones in the iPhone box. However, even if in fact the main motivation of the iPhone manufacturer is greed - so what? Invariably, as a result, tens of millions of accessories will not hit the market, which will most likely end up in the trash without using.

What do we know about the iPhone 12 ? There will be four models to choose from.

According to unconfirmed information, iPhone 12 is expected to appear in four varieties: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The cheapest model is reportedly equipped with a 5.4-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro will offer a 6.1-inch display with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels.

And you? Will you buy a new smartphone if there are no chargers or headphones in the box?
