Put your hands up or you re not writing the exam. The soldiers aimed their high-school thermometers at high school graduates
In selected poviats, the pedagogical body was supported by the Territorial Defense Forces during the final exams. However, it was not about watching the discipline - the military helped reduce the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic .
Yesterday there were written matura exams from the Polish language - in a rather unusual way. This is the first secondary school-leaving examination conducted in an epidemiological emergency. So it's not surprising to try to provide everyone with the highest possible level of security, although some methods may surprise you.
One such method is the support provided by Territorial Defense Forces. Before the students could take the exam - and the waiting time was not the most pleasant, until the start of the final exams it was not allowed to take off the masks and gloves - they were scanned with shooting sights.
Rubin thermovision sights measured the body temperature of high school graduates.
As we learn from the Polish Television report , the sixth Mazovian Territorial Defense Brigade was the first in the country to use SCT Rubin sights to screen body temperature during high school exams. It was checked if the temperature of each student did not differ from that taken as a reference point. The viewfinder has been physically and programmically modified to make it look better at this unusual task.
The Territorial Defense Army has provided its support to the Team The Home Army of the Głuszec-Grójec District in Grójec. In the following days, the military will support the activities of the 11th High School in Radom and the 1st High School of the Feniks Płock Scientific and Business Center. The test is preliminary: suspected students were to be examined more closely according to the procedure. However, we have no information on whether there were any signs of coronavirus infection during any of the exams.
SCT Rubin is 309 mm long, 111 mm high and 87 mm wide. Together with the supply batteries, the sight weighs 1.25 kg. The crosshair provides the ability to detect a human-sized target from a minimum distance of 1.2 km. SCT Rubin uses a microbolometric matrix with a resolution of 288 x 384 pixels and a sensitivity of NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) better than 0.1 C.
